I am having issues with disconnection an AC line to remove the HVAC system from my 03 dodge. I have 4 different brand tools, and I cannot get this connection apart. I was able to get one apart, but the second wont budge. What are some tricks to getting these fittings apart on a more consistent basis. Is there a better tool then whats at sears or advance?

btw who ever decided these fittings were a great idea should be kicked in the nuts.

They're the best thing since sliced bread if you work on the assembly line. Aside from that they are one of the most useless pieces of trash ever installed in a vehicle. I've never had fun with them, but on stubborn ones have had some luck spraying some wd40 or pb into the fitting to help work it loose once the locks are pushed out of the way with the tool. Others I've had to just fight with, twist on, and even tap (lightly) with a hammer to get them to pop.

If all else fails an acetylene torch will disconnect it quickly and permanently so it'll never give you such trouble again.

Glad to hear it. Those fittings are quite possibly the only reason I refuse to be a dealership tech.

oh, if you were a dealership tech, you would quickly find other reasons NOT to be one.

I've been a dealer parts guy for a while now. I'd never advise anyone to make either a career choice. I've wondered for years how I always miss seeing the short bus drop off the managers...
