I have a f-250 that has been solid axle swapped with a ford kingpin dana 60. I just want to make sure I know I'm getting the correct outer axle shaft before I order a new one, because I am having no luck finding a used one. I am not sure what year the axle is.

Would this be the correct shaft? The site has almost no information, but it is the best deal I have seen for a new shaft. http://www.amazon.com/Spicer-DAN620085-30-Spline-11-375-Length/dp/B003FXWYZ8

Thanks in advance for any help.

This is the correct shaft, as long as what you have hasn't been switched to 35 spline outers (chromo's)

As far as the 30 splines...I have two here. Want one? Come and get it!

Aren't all of the Ford stub shafts the same length? As are Chevy and Dodge which will interchange with each other, but not Ford. IIRC, the GM/Dodge ones are 12".

From what I understand they are. You are correct about the chevy/dodge, which is what ol'jeeps ended up having laying around so I'm still on the hunt. If I can't find a used one in the next day or so I'll end up ordering that new one.

Yep, Ford D60 stubs (pre-Super Duty ones) are approx 5/8" shorter than Chevy and Dodge ones. You can cut it to length and machine a new snap ring groove with an approved tool. You know, like a cut off wheel :D.

I should have stock ford stub shaft in the shop if interested
