For the Ford guys in the group, put this together for some folks discussing engine swaps and the gains from those swaps. Shows what federal restrictions did power as well. Put some tangible numbers up to show the 300 legend is more folklore than anything and to put to rest some debates on the 7.3 vs 460. There's a little bit of everything here from 60's performance to desirable late 60's-early 70's engines to 80's-90's truck engines and a couple diesels.

Pretty Cool! I had a 68 Galaxie 390. But it was the Ford 390 dog, Not the Thunderbird 390. I Knew the was a difference. Also had a 69 Galaxie 429, &71 Lincoln 460! :burnout:

67 Galaxie 500 is next on my list for restoration...now just have to find one.

Back when I got the 68, I was at a Ford Dealership. They had a 67 I Wanted, with the Thunderbird 4bbl eng. But they had a deposit & it got picked up. They Promised to get me another one within a week. It turned out to be the 68, & I Needed a car.

The Boss 9 ratings were the biggest FU to the insurance industry of all time.

Yeah...those performance engine ratings from the late 60's/early 70's are damn near comical. Flip side of that though, are the FU's to consumer on the overrated passenger car ratings and mpg ratings.

Grandad and uncle used to have matching white Lincoln continentals with 460s my uncle would do burnouts in his subdivision in Greensboro that made him look like he was prepping for a drag race, damn good times I liked that red interior a lot.

Sadly a tree fell across the ass end of this 70 Mark. Ugly ass green, but 60k and relatively mint. Was the 460 donor for my Project: Abraham. Was intending on throwing the 400 from my Bronco in it and just cruise with it. Ended up just stripping what was still good and scrapping the rest.

Dang what a shame I've got some good sleep laying back there where the rear window is, actually had a pillow that stayed. I would love to have one as a dd.

Trying to get my ass in gear for when my current DD dies, and do a 5.0 coyote swap in an 88 Town Car, but time is getting harder and harder to come by.
