I have a 77 CJ5 with the OE type front disc brakes and locking hubs.
I want to upgrade to the "internal" locking hub, like used on Ford, Chevy, Full-Size Jeeps.

I have a couple sets of full size Jeep front end\brakes\axle stuff... and I could put all thaton....but I would like to stay 5 on 5-1\2 lug pattern, and wagonners\Jtrucks with discs were 6-lug:rolleyes:
so...who has done the swap with the F-150\Bronco rotor\hub set-up?

One thing I want to gain is the wheel bearing lock system used on the Wagoneer front. Same on the Ford?
Gott use a Ford outer sdtub shaft?

use dana 44 knuckles brakes and outer shafts from one of your fullsize jeeps and bolt that onto the dana 30 balljoints. they will have a 6 bolt spindle.

you need small bearing chevy/waggy spindles from the mid '70s to run the ford f-150 rotors and hubs and lockouts. that should be the basics.

link to great pics and all kinds of info on this including parts #'s and applications

pics of the correct spindles about 3/4ths down that ^ page

edit: you'll need to change outer axleshafts too. should be able to use them from a fullsize axle. the lengths are also listed on that link to compare ford to gm/waggy.

You can also run the full size jeep knuckles and spindles with a half ton dodge hub and cj rotors. I have that set up on my TJ now and works great.

LUG

I would like to try to keep it 5-lug AND use the better spindle\bearing\ hub. If i use the FSJ knuckle, then I gotta modify steering linkage. Dont wanna.
