Dont feel like dropping $250 plus frt there and back to PSC to port a box. Anyone/ any shop want to do it? Would love to keep the business on the board.
 
I've never heard of porting a steering box. Are you talking about tapping for hydro assist?

Yes tapping. Called ECGS said to send it to PSC, $250.
 
It isn't hard to do. I did the one on my 85 FS Bronco myself. Works fine. There are pictures on the internet showing where to drill and tap the box.

If you port the box, you need to polish the worm gear. That's where the real magic is. Google "worm polishing" or something like that... should be able to turn them up.
 
It really is easy to do. You also really don't have to take the whole box apart if you're careful. Unless you're going to do it right and polish the worm.
 
I didn't take my box apart. I think I used grease on the drill and tap to eliminate shavings getting inside.
