actually depending on what year 10.25, yukon does not, you have to change yokes to use there gear, precision however makes both sets, and precision is a better gear.
If you want gears for it PM me or check on my site for prices.
As far as the axle goes there plenty strong. Gear options are available and you can slap a lockright in it.
The 10.25 has two principal knocks against it. One is that the older ones had the short pinion design. I think they changed over to long pinion in about '93 or so. As Cperry stated, if you have to regear a short pinion 10.25 just buy the long pinion gears and replace the yoke as well. That is all that is needed to upgrade it to a long pinion design.
The other knock on the 10.25 is a poor hub seal design. They're known to leak badly and not last long. Ford came out with an improved hub seal design in about '94. Once again, all you need to do to upgrade the from older design is buy the improved seal and install it, there were no changes to the actual axle housing or hubs. When you're looking for this seal only get the Motorcraft one. The hub seals you'll get at all of the parts stores is the older leaky design.
prob no help but It got and old housing with 2 hubs laying up in the field if you would want it for any odd reason Ill go dig it out for 25$
