Anyone interested in going to the forestry trade show in Richmond next week on the 21st? I have a sawmill so I’m interested to mingle and mostly just gain more knowledge about the industry.

Link: EXPO RICHMOND

I plan to go on the 21st and skip out on Friday the 20th because my kids have awards day at school the 20th.

I plan to leave Greenville early Saturday morning and come back whenever on Saturday, possibly late. If there is interest, I may be interested in leaving Friday afternoon and spending the night up there Friday and enjoying Richmond then being there early on Saturday.

Anyone want to go, we can meet up or even carpool if it makes sense.

Rob

I almost came home with the husquarvana 392 saw with the 36” bar. Not because I need it but because it was bad ass. $1400 was not a bad price as well.

The 365 was also on sale at the show for $650, which would certainly have been a worth investment. But I bought a new saw 2 months ago, so I had to pass.

I was super impressed with some of the portable sawmills, but more especially with the Lucas Mills. That mill just flat out killed it in the demos. I think in less than 3 minutes it milled out a 30” sycamore log dow to nothing. All manual. Just super impressive and surprised me and I have a new respect for the swing blade sawmills.

There was a ton of other cool equipment there; plenty of feller bunchers, dozers, forestry mulchers, firewood processors, and many other vendors. Just cool equipment to climb around.
