I wish ops: ....................my 75yo dad bagged it at 3:45pm today, his biggest by far. He called me at work, out of breath and said he shot a buck. He said 2 does came near his stand and looked towards him then he heard something behind him. The does were looking at the buck. He droped the buck in it's tracks w a Winchester I gave him and could see it from the stand so I told him to calm down, take some deep breaths and keep huntin!!. I told him to stay in the stand till I got there and shoot another deer if he saw it!! He has thousands of trailcam pics at this stand, but none of this buck, or any near it's size and he's very happy w his trophy.
There's plenty of rural areas left in the co., we hunt on my uncles place near Holly Springs and the rapid sprawl will take most all of the woods/land around him within 10 yrs IMO. He's been approached by many buyers, but he ain't sellin and alot of local landowners are holding out for more $$$$$ that will undoubtedly be offered one day. Lot's of gamelands here around 3 lakes, but it can get crowded during gunseason. All of the many private properties I hunted in the 80s-90s are subdivisions now
