Hi,

May take the trucks to Fort Fisher Beach and do a little fishing Memorial Day Weekend and just what to know how bad the traffice (on beach) will be. We are planning on going Saturday and be at the gate at 8am to pay.

What can we except for traffic and wait time?

Thanks, John

i've never had to wait down at fort fisher (north end is a different story!!)

we went out on fort fisher a couple years ago on the 4th of july and had 200 yards between us and the next guy out there!
the further you're willing to drive down the beach, the less people you will encounter.

Sounds good, thanks. How is the sand at Fort Fisher? Thick, soft, etc?

Anyone going on to the beach in NC should visit www.ncbba.org for some good info, driving tips, updated access, fishing reports, weather, etc.

Sand has always been semi-soft around the dunes and a little more hard-packed by the water.

Thanks for the link. We have been to the OBX (Frisco) may of times so we are use to a foot of soft sand and worst on dry weeks.

Thanks

What ever you are in air down to at least 20. South end is soft. When you are heading to the aquarium your gonna take a left before it into the access. Right beside that is a wooden building follow the signs up the stairs and there is the state park rangers area what ever you call it and that's where to get the access pass. You will have plenty of room to fish, send me a pm I'll tell you where the honey holes are. My brothe lives at Kure so I know everything pretty well.

The entrance to the beach will have some soft deep sand. The beach will be busy but not nearly as bad as the North end. Go to the office on the second floor at the entrance building for a day or year pass. The Fort drws more in the line of fishermen but will have people just enjoying the beach. Remember no fires or drinking they do check. As you head down the beach look close and you will see some darker spots close to the beach. These are holes and will have some good fishing.
