Anyone know of a good, honest repair shop?

I have a 05 Honda recon that needs carb work, and possibly gas tank repair work.

Honda shop is probably too pricey and will prob. take forever, so what other choices are there in or around W/S , Mocksville, or nearby.

dylan - this is a long/wide shot... but I know a guy in Lewisville that rebuilds/resells them as a side business... or at least he did when I was there. Unf I don't know of a business name, but he lived just off of Lewisville-Vienna rd not 1/2 mi from where I used to, he often had a quad or two sitting out on the corner on L-V road right before my street. His name is Milke Gaines, really good guy. I'll see if I can dig up a number.

Dylan,

There is a great guy who has a booming professional business out in Davie county. He name is Chad and his business name is Victory...something. He is located on the road just past Lake Myers campground. I will have to dig to find his card and get you the address and number.

He has done several repairs for buddies and me over the years. Excellent work, fast turn around and very resonable pricing. I think he does some of the more major repairs for the dealerships around town. Great guy and just down the road from you. I will try to dig up the number, but this is who you need to do the work

Matt Beatty. He has his own small shop, in Statesville, so not too far of a haul for you. He does great work for a good price, and he is the only one who I trust with my stuff. He actually has one of my brother's four wheelers there right now.

I believe his shop number is 704-876-4534, tell him Garrett Campbell sent you.

What's up with the carb or the tank? Just dirty or the jets or float need adjusting? The the tank split or something? Either way I can fix er up! Or I got a connection with a fairly well known local named Johnny Kirby (Kirby's Cycle Repair) if you want a full time wrench to work on it. I'm down your way about every weekend now so give me a PM if I can help.

I sank it in the Dan River.

Then I took it apart and cleaned the carb and tank.
I took the petcock out of the tank and tried to clean it.
When I put the petcock back on the tank, I guess I stripped the plastic threads because I tightened it too much.

Put it all back together and still didnt run right, so I figure the petcock wasnt clean enough. I tried to take it back off and the screws wont back up.(stripped, but holding together)

Drilled out the screws and fixed that, cleaned the petcock better, put it back together, and now gas just pours from it.

First thought was stuck floats, but maybe it's the tank. idk

Matt had to fix the same exact problem in my brother's Foreman 450 a few years ago, he sunk it in the deep part of a creek, floated it back up tires up.

If you sank it that bad a number of things need to be checked and addressed. Diff, crank case vents ect. I've seen bottom ends and transmissions come apart from this type of riding.

Yep. I need to check everything except the left handlebar. That part never went in the water.
