Freeman Park or Ft Fisher??

Heading to Kure Beach for a wedding. Figure might as well bring the Jeep and do some beach driving and enjoy the beach kid-free.

Bri likes to relax on the beach, I like to surf fish.
The Jeep will be just transportation.


Freeman Park or Ft Fisher? Ft Fisher is cheaper but not by much. Ft Fisher closes at 730pm but we won’t be there that late, so no big deal.
I’m going to assume Freeman Park is busier and more crowded. And, the north end is closed, which used to be the better fishing areas.

Anyone have any experience with either recently?
 
I haven't been since they changed the rules and had to make reservations. Wasn't worth the price of admission with all the Dbags driving around all night with no exhaust.
 
Ft fisher will probably be less crowded. Unless all the douches that used to hang out on the north end migrated to Ft Fisher.

Went to ft.fisher 3 weeks ago.
It was wall to wall busy.

However now that its after Labor day I would expect it to be better. I always prefer ft.fisher over freeman park.
 
We should pool our collective NC4x4 funds and buy a beach to wheel on.

Fort Fisher. Way more room, way less expensive. When I was there a month ago Freeman park was crowded and it's about 1/10th the size it used to be. Fort Fisher was not crowded at all and you still have about 6 miles of beach to ride on.
