i aint too familiar with front d60s.....

what is needed/can be done so that a newer model ford d60 can be made to run 8x6.5" lug pattern as opposed to the 8x170mm that has been used for the past few years? adapter? new knuckles?

from what i know is it aint gonna happen with boltons. You cant swap knuckles due to the older kingpin vs newer ball joints/unit crap. Your gonna have to run an adaptor or different wheels. You could cut the C off and get a new inner C for a kingpin knuckle, then run the older kingpin knuckles are outter assembly. Thats a good excuse for dedanbears.

so if given the situation of having a front d60 which is 8x170mm and a rear d60 that is 8x6.5"....what is the best course of action?

run some mismatched wheels while you order everything from the c's out...

fuck that, im thinkin itd be cheaper to get 3 of each wheel instead, and just have two spares :flipoff2:

aside from the cost of tires, itd only be $100 or so for another wheel....which is much cheaper than new Cs, knuckles, etc

All of this is proceeding from the notion that a 99+ Ford D60 is actually worth using for any kind of swap. It's not, unless you get the axle nearly for free, and you're willing to cut off everything outside of the tubes, replacing inner/outer knuckles, spindles, axles, hubs, and brakes. At which point you'd better be into the thing for negative dollars to start with, because you've surely run up a tab by now.

The only thing "D60" about those axles is the ring and pinion, and depending on what year you snagged, that's not even necessarily true (early ones are all D50s). The unit bearings suck, the axles are tiny by comparison, and ball joints....? Well, point is they make fine paperweights or scrap steel.
