I need some help. I have a horrible Front End Shimmy. Its not DW, but it will shake the steering wheel at 60 to 65 Mph. I have a 97 TJ with 09 Moab's and 32" BFG MT's with Spidertrax wheel adapters. I have had the tires balanced twice since putting them on about a month ago. I also had a OME Steering Stabilizer installed when I put on the new tires. The SS was put on for the new tires, not to help with the shimmy. This shimmy was there before I switched tires and I thought it was tire related. Now that I have balanced the tires twice, I dont know what to think. I have been under the Jeep and inspected all of the steering/suspension components for wear or loose connections, but I have noticed nothing unusual. I need help on what to do next?

Thanks

how did you check the wear/loose tie rod ends? Check the wheel bearings with a dial? Control arm bushings? I have the same issue, but I think mine is w.bearing/tie rod ends.. check alignment too

1. Check and tighten every bolt related to the front end
  • Upper and lower control arm bolts
  • Trackbar bolts
  • Steering stabilizer bolts
  • Tie rod ends
  • Draglink bolts

2. Take your wheel spacers off then drive the 60 to 65 mph and see if it vibes.

3. Replace your wheel bearings.

I would bet a Krispy Kreme donut it is one of those three things.
