front end vibes - 55mph+

My front end has started vibrating pretty bad at 55+, most prevalent around the 55 mark. My tires are freshly balanced and I just repacked my wheel bearings last year when I did a brake job. I am kind of thinking it is the u-joints at the knuckles? Any other ideas?

I would like to think that a D60 is in my future for this truck... but money is a constant problem right now.

And no I haven't done an alignment! I am due for one too, might try to get that done this week actually.

Shocks. My silverado started getting vibrations that would come up and cause the steering wheel to shake. All it needed was shocks, and it smoothed it right out.

Can you see any cupping on your outer treads on the front tires?

a little on my old tires, but they were down right terrible. If I can afford an alignment I will get one done to see if that makes a difference, then go from there.

well all of my ball joints are bad long with both the u-joints at the knuckles... Gubni you still got all those D60s?

i had a broken shock tower...replacing that just fixed my death wobble.
