Front/Rear axels

Is it OK to put a one ton rear axel in a truck and leave the 1/2 ton axel in the front alone as long as they are geared the same.

Yeah no problem with that I even had a friend that ran a dana 60 up front and a 9" rear for a long time until he twisted a couple chromo shafts in the rear

Also you'll have to either get a complete new driveshaft for the rear or a conversion u-joint.

Lug pattern won't match so carry two spare tires... Or don't.

chevrolet made a semi floating? 14b with the 6 lug pattern, might be an option for you.

Yes they did but the sf 6-lug 14B is hard to find and rare.
