So the YJ I am racing does not have a track bar and the mount on the frame has been cut off. No big deal, its good for trail rifing, but for the high speed racing I feel the front end walks around too much. Its sprung over with 1.5" lift RE springs. How do I know what length to make it? Also please explain how the track bar does no put the axle in a lateral bind when the suspension drops out. All help is appreciated.:driver:

They do cause binding and unfortunately thats why most people take them off. It forces the axle to move in the same arc as the drag link. For the road thats a great thing. On the trail not so good, it'll kill leaf spring bushings pretty fast. There is no question that I would have one on a race rig. Everytime you turn the wheel in a corner and it feels like the body is trying to push you your loosing that much steering travel.

When you make a new bar, you'll want to make it as close to the length of the drag link as possible. With a yj you'll likely need to make a bracket for the frame end that will stick out past the side of the frame rail to get the bar long enough. Just make sure it clears the shock. If you don't have enough room to do it that way then you can mount it to the top of the u bolt plate to get more length. At ride height you want the drag link and the panhard to be parellel .
