Ok did a spring over on my YJ with Stock springs. This replaced a black diamond 4 inch lift that was on it when I bought it. I left the transfer case drop and had good luck with factory driveshaft on the road. I have used it all hunting season off road and have a good leak on transfer case output seal. Trying to go low buck. Will the XJ driveshaft work if I cut it down or go ahead and do SYE. The reason behind being cheap is this is not the final driveline for the jeep but its a DD right now. I have a ax-15/231 combo. Just don't know what motor I am going with or just use a Dakota bell housing behind the 4 angry squirrels.

I'll find out tomorrow if the junkyard is open. I was looking at putting the yoke from the 231 on the double cardan end if the u joints are the same.

Yes with the SYE it will work if you have the shaft shortened.

You will not be able to put the existing 231 slip yoke onto the xj double cardan joint because of the double cardan design. not to mention, the shaft itself has a slip shaft area in it.
