Frontier impressions wanted

I've never given Nissan a chance for anything other than the 370z, but I've realized that there is no way I can afford a damn Tacoma like I use to have.

Looking at an 06 Frontier 4wd 5speed. 67k miles

What are these things like? I know its got the 4.0L which has some impressive numbers, gets average fuel economy, which still blows ass, and has comfortable seats (I'm assuming its the same seats from the xterra).

reliable, comfortable, noisy, anything? Thanks!
 
Thanks...how does it do for normal amenities...cup holders, glove box usage...phone chargers get in the way of anything? Headroom OK, legs cramp up on long drives? Any buffeting when only opening 1 window at speed? I know these seem random, but its the little things that you notice 3k miles later ya know?
 
watch the radiator. nissans are terrible for the cooler busting and sending coolant into the trans. may not sound like much, but when you get the $4500 estimate you'll remember i warned you.
i noticed you said 5 speed but the auto's are 5 speed also,so i figured i'd warn you.
 
got 73k on my 08 nismo edition. 4.0, auto, 4x4, offroad package. so far its been a good truck, just as good if not better than a taco for 5grand less. love my full box frame, metal bed and round fenders too haha!

as for the other stuff, 2 cup holders up front w/ removeable rubber insert thingys, seats are good not amazing but ive taken 5-6hr trips in it and it good, plenty of leg room, headroom is ok but im only about 5,7'' so it not a big deal for me, and the window thing... i guess its ok? no something ive ever really thought of or noticed.
 
Im 6'-0 and theres plenty of driver room for me. 2 cup holders in the middle are ok. 3 power outlets. The center console is plenty deep. The sunglass door is an added bonus. Only thing I dont like is on long trips my elbow seems to be the perfect length to sit in the door grab on the door panel. Not a bigge but just annoying.
 
o yeah the 2 glove boxes was always kinda cool to me too. and the bottle holders in the door are nice but not really that functional %100 of the time since your leg will cover em up but not a big issue
 
If you go with the manual it should be a 6 speed not a 5 speed in those trucks. If you have any questions go to

clubfrontier.org has lots of good info but dont ask that question because you will get jumped on for askin a VERY repetative question for that site, lots of good stuff though.
 
My Dad has one and has had little issues with it. His is a 6sp man trans. He has had issues with the emissions codes. He's been told anything from an evap canister to new gas caps. The codes are intermittent. I also know someone who had an auto trans. He had the problem with the cooling and was forced to get a new trans, $$$$

there was a cross contamination issue in the early 05s and maybe some 06s but im not sure on the 06s. there is a cheap bypass mod that you can do to prevent it though.
