Have you seen it? The wife and I watched this last night. Movies like this always get to me! When the guy jumped from the chair lift and broke his legs I about puked. I saw it coming and was on the edge of the couch the whole time! lol

I can come up with a million things I would have done differently. The very first thing I thought of was scaling the wire to the pole to climb down the ladder. I'm not sure that the wire would have cut through gloves as easily as it did in the movie, but I still would have used the ski pole and lifted my legs up to the wire for extra support/stability. I also would have done it a LOT earlier than they chose to. Perhaps then the wolves would not have bothered them.

Anyways, I wanted to see what everyone else thought and how you would have saved the lives of everyone in that situation?

See?, that's why I never go anywhere with severe winters.

seriously, a man in good shape should be able to scale the cable to the closest tower and get to the ground ... then go find a rope to get the others down (or bust into the operator room and turn the lift back on 'n shred for a whole week for free) :)

your kiddin right? They made a whole movie about being stranded on a chairlift:confused:,Let me guess in the end the girl finally remembers she has her cel phone.

I have been lowered down by a rope from a ski chair on the Ballhooter lift at Snowshoe resort in WV twice. The first time was in EXTREMELY cold weather when I was about 9-10 years old. The lift shut down during the first hour of the morning. We were stuck up there for about 1.5-2 hrs. Luckily we were down in the trees and shielded from the wind. Some of the others farther up the mountain were not so lucky and got frostbite. It sucked big time since it was so frigidly cold. The second time it happened I think I was 19-21 years old, and it truly was the last run of the day. All my buddies had baled and gone in, but I figured I could get one more run in. Again, we were stuck up there for about 1.5-2 hrs before they lowered us down with rope. The temperatures were more normal that time, so I wasn't too cold, but it did get dark before they got us down.
