Looks like I may be picking up a 1984 Waggy with the carbed 360ci V8. What I'm wanting to find out is if the MPI setup off of a 5.2L(318) or a 5.9(360) will bolt on to the 84 block and heads? I know I will have to swap intake manifolds and weld in bungs for the O2 sensors but will all the other sensors etc... bolt in place? I will be getting the complete setup along with the wiring harness, fuel pump and ecu. Is this a good option or is there another/better/easier injection setup that I could swap on for about the same price($200). I don't know too much about Mopars. I've done a number of EFI conversions on GMs(TBI & TPI) before so I know the basics I just need the technical info on the Mopar stuff. I would like to do a GM TBI setup on the 360 but I have been told it wouldn't work.

no
That has a AMC 360 5.9 ltr
the 5.2 and 5.9 dodge is a completly different engine.

you can install a GM TBI or there is one MPI from Edelbrock
Ask ETJEEP on here he installed one on his 401 AMC

The Edy is all-in-all pretty easy but not for a budget builder. You need access to a welder for the O2 bung. The GM TBI set-ups are pretty common and cheaper.

I put a used Holley Projection TBI system on my old amc360. It worked pretty good. Fine tuning was not easy though. I think I spent about 4hundo for it.

I have a GM TBI running great on The War Buggy, AMC 360, no problems.

War Wagon, were you able to use all factory parts? How did you run your distributor?

A Howell setup would be nice but the $1200 isn't really in the budget right now. Anyone want to make a donation??? :D

The distributor is tied into the ecm.

That is who did the system on The War Buggy, and was installed by my friend before I bought it. I have see this thing stand on it's end and still run. You can do it cheeper yourself if you don't mind digging through the pull-a-part. My son got everthing for his Wagoneeer for $50.00. We just have not had time to get it installed yet.

What I did on my J10 was a complete 350 SBC tbi conversion
I use a Datsun 280z Fuel pump it is off the shelf and delivers plenty of fuel. it mounts real nice up in the c- channel of the frame

I even use one of those on my 64 J200 with a Tuned port SBC
