What kind of fuel pump do I need to use? I've installed a 94 suzuki swift engine in my 87 samurai. It has multiport fuel injection and I'm in the process of getting it all wired in. I've heard one guy say he used a pump out of an 89 full size bronco. Do I need high pressure or high volume to run the port fuel injection? Will I need a fuel pressure requlator? Any info would help?

the best thing to do is run a in line fuel pump but remember u need to mount it as close to the tank as possible and on a fuel injection system u need probley need 40-60 psi i would consult a book on the swift to get correct fuel pressure a regulator may be needed

With a little motor pressure will be more important than volume. Don't forget that you will need to plumb a return line to the tank. It needs to be almost the same size as the main fuel line.

Yes, but an efi pump won't be too cheap. You can buy the e2000 ford pump that your friend was talking about at an autoparts store for a decent price and it will handle your engine. Plus would be easy to replace if needed.

Braxton, does the e2000 ford pump need a regulator or is that already built in? Also, can the fuel line connections at the injector rail just use small hose clamps or do they need to be some kind of pressure connection? From looking at the way it was set up in the swift I think hose clamps were originally used, but I'm not 100% sure.

You're supposed to use high pressure rated hose and pushlock or some type of high pressure fitting... Barbed fittings and hose clamps would work and have worked for plenty of people in the past.
It needs to be regulated somehow, but your engine should likely have a reg built into the fuel rail. It's meant to be a return style pump, so I don't know how it would work if you're returnless...you could always add a return style reg to the system for a minimal amount of money.
It's a really popular pump for car people and offroaders as well so you might try searching around the web for some info. People say "89 f150" "88 f250" "late 80's bronco"...whatever, it's all the same pump for the most part...so that's what they're talking about. As was said, it's not meant to pull fuel so mount it close to the tank and prime it.

Do you have a manual for that engine? What's the base fp?
