I finally got my gti engine all wired into my sami but when I try cranking it I get no fuel. I've isolated the problem to be the fuel pump is'nt coming in when I turn the the key to on. I'm going to go back and make sure the efi relay and the pump relay are wired in properly in the morning. Meanwhile I figured I'd ask if any of you have any experience with this?

I got my fuel pump working, I finally got spark but still no cranky. It acts kinda like the timing my be a little off. If I spray some starter fluid in the intake it will fire and it'll fire every once and a while with out the starter fluid. I know this engine hasn't been cranked in atleast a year. Could it be that I just need to spin the hell out of it? Any ideas?

The timing's off for sure. try adjusting the distributer all the way to see if it will start, but odds are, you're off a tooth.

It was the timing. Now, it'll crank for a second and then shut down like its running out of fuel. I'm running a fuel pump out of an 89 full size bronco. I think its a p3000. The book says that this pump will put out up to 70 psi. So I dont think its a fuel pressure problem.

is there an inline fuel filter or regualtor? check to make sure that youre getting fuel to the other side of both of those.... you can pull your plug after it cuts off and see what it looks like, if its wet, ten youre gettin fuel, but not spark

There is such a thing as too much fuel pressure. Be carefull you don't hydrolock the engine with fuel. I'm hoping you have a pressure regulator on the rail. If it will start and then die, try keeping it running with carb cleaner to see if it's a fuel issue.
