i want to put 35s on my 85 bronco will 3 inch body lift be enough clearence. i am open to cut out fender flares also. and what back spacing should wheels have to prevent rubbing. if you have one with 35s and body lift only id like to see how it looks thanks

depends how wide of wheels you're sticking on it. only way to know is to get out and start measuring. You know you need about 37 inches of clearance width wise. You can also just jack the body up until it looks like it will fit 35's. I never had tires that big on mine so I can't really help you with specifics

2.75" backspacing on an 8-10" wide rim, should be the ticket to minimize rubbing with minimal lift. 33's will fit stock but will stuff the fenders.

ok i knew bout the 33s fitting stock thats why i was thinking 35s would fit if i did a 3 inch body lift. guess ill find out. when it goes on and keep the saw ready lol

With the 3" BL, you should prevent any body contact and with the 2.75" backspacing, you should prevent any RA rubbing. All of this, of course, is on level pavement.

35s will still rub the radius arms with 2.75" BS, and they'll get into the fenders worse than they would on a more neutrally-offset wheel.

The high offset will also tear up the ball joints and wear the wheel bearings faster.

3" body lift might be enough, but you're going to have to cut the fenders, and the tires will still eat the wheel tubs in the back when it's crossed up. It just depends on what you want out of the truck.

it will be used for hunting and mudding not into rock crawling so basically i should look to doing suspension lift . so now my quetion is how much? dont want to go to high cuz ima short guy lol hate to have to haul a ladder around to get in and out. lmao.

You may be right, I don't have personal experience of that combo on my rigs, but that recipe is the one that guys use over and over on FSB and claim to have good results.

I had a 4" suspension lift with 35s. It worked all right, just some rubbing here and there when stuffed or turned to lock.

When I put 2.75" BS wheels on it (to clear the bigger Chevy calipers), I had to cut the back edge off both front fenders from just in front of the fender bolt up to about 12" above the rocker.

If it's just for a hunting truck, it'll be fine with a body lift or a 3-4" suspension lift. It might rub sometimes on the fenders, tubs, or radius arms, but it wouldn't be a big deal.

i ran 35"s on a 87 fullsize. keep in mind, if you go that big your gonna need gears.

if all you are doing is going hunting in it, put some 31's-33"s on it. forget the lift, just trim the fenders and weld the rear and be done.

you'll get more out of a welded rear that you will bigger tires.

Listen to Reid. His answer is better than mine.

if you want 35's you need at least 4" of lift. dont do a 4" body lift either!!! get a suspension lift and be done with it. while you're at it, get a solid 44 from a mid 70's ford 1/2 ton and do a solid axle swap. if you do it right you'll break even on purchasing a suspension lift and have a better product at the end.

by the way, this will also eat ball joints and tie rod ends. you dont want that little backspacing unless you have to have it. 4" bs is what you run on a 4" or 6" lift.

I have a 92 f150 standard cab shortbed with 3" body lift and 35's. you will have to atleast trim the bumper to fit the tires, mine only rub when i completley turn all the way. barely scrubs radious arms and like i said only when doing a tight tigh u-turn. you can see where i trimmed my bumper
