I just went and test drove a 1989 Full Size Bronco...with 302 V8 and automatic...it took forever for the idle to drop to normal, and when I took off, it was pathetically sluggish. I drove it down the road and back, and my CR-V has more pick up. I wopuld think the 302 V8 would haul butt compared to my 4 cyl...is something bad wrong with it or will they not move?

at cold start up mine will idle a little high but nothing to extreme, they are heavy trucks so they are not going to throw you back in your seat.

I was scared to pull out in traffic. With the pedal buried, it barely took off at all. If I would have been racing it in my CR-V...I would have left it in the dust. I didn't think a 302 bronco would be that anemic. My truck isn't...

So now your looking into V8's? If thats the case.. i still have the Grand Cherokee for sale!!!

Bronco is heavier than a short bed p/u.....5.8 is a lot better - my 5.8 F-250 Heavy Duty super cab flies compared to the 5.0 B'co I had (it ran good, just heavy).

once I get past the intial "fall-on-its-face-stubble", my 351 gets out of it's own way pretty well...to be a FORD, anyway:popcorn:
