Any idea where I can find a 14 bolt full spool? I have looked at most of the "big" retailers only to find nothing or a super high price comparable to a Detroit Locker

spools $295 usually in stock right now they are on back order 2 weeks out

or a even cheaper option same result mini spool $160 if you were considering a detroit but don't mind a spool than the mini spool is perfect. mini spools get a bad rap b/c they tear cases up but for the same reason a detroit installs in a factory 14 bot carrier, i don't think its possible to tear up a 14 bolt case they are pure beef.

Yeah i know how to weld, but i'm not a fan of "lincoln lockers". Most of my race car diffs. were welded. IN MY OPINION I dont think you should cut corners in certain areas and diffs are 1 of them. You can get your self in a bad way if your way out on a trail a long way from a tow rig and break something like that. I don't like to cut corners if I don't have to.

Really think you're going to break a 14b lincoln locker...? It would be far stronger than a detroit if you do it correctly and only costs time. Though you're right, you can't get much more beef than a (properly engineered) full spool.

I had the Ouverson spool in my old 14 bolt, the fit and machine work was pure quality. I really don't think you could break it or a 14 bolt "lincoln locker". That axle is pure beef unless you have a big block and those heavy 53" military tires.

Welded 30 and 44 axles - no; 14 bolt - all day long it'll go strong, just burn it in with a good welder and slow cool.

the only reason why not to weld is you are ruining a $300 dollar carrier not a dana 44 $75 dollar carrier, For $160 bucks for a mini spool is pretty cheap to be able to pull it out and drop in a detroit if you want later. If you break one of our mini spools or your case ill give you a full spool I have never heard of a faliure.

Now on another note full spools are way sweet you can use them to anchor your fishing boat, curl them to build your biceps kill a 200lb man with a single blow. and yes provide 100% traction with no chance of ever breaking it.
