hey all

might have some bad news for me. :(

is there any way to convert a dana 44 from a 77 dodge from full time to part time. ( i know there is) so how do you do it? :flipoff2:

also is it really worth it?

thanks

tyler

ps. i searched pirate and got some confused answers so i hope yall can really help me. also what would yall do in my situation? spend the money on a 44 to convert it or save up for a 60?

Running 39's? you're nuts with anything less than a 60..

well, actually USING it with 39's. It'll be fine on the jackstands. (Yes, pot, meet kettle, beat ya to it)

internal hubs, or external?

IIRC you will need everything from the knuckle out from a dana 44 that is not fulltime, good time to get rid of the weaker dodge knuckles and go with a set of chevy flat tops, I would reccomend complete chevy 8 lug outers with internal hubs

GREAT  thats what i thought.

i guess ill save up for for a dana 60  . oh well.

anyone got one for sale? :D

tyler.

rich, i think i could hold my own with 40's and a dana 44. held 36's on a dana 30 locked for 3 years :flipoff2: . and i wheeled the piss out of it :flipoff2:

why drop that much more on a 60? swapping outers shouldn't cost you much more than 200 bucks, if that. you don't have much in the axle already, plus it's got 4.56's. good luck finding a 60 for less than 800.

yea i know tylers driving style...he can make it live. just find some part time chevy stuff and switch it out for the dodge full time stuff. it should be bolt in

ill just run it like this for a couple years and try and not put any money into it. i won't lock it or anything so i should be alright. thanks

so i would have to get everything chevy or what? i have brand new brakes up front and bearings so could i keep them or would i have to get all new?

thanks
