Being a tech junkie, I was intrigued by the workings of that Christmas light video that was posted last week. I dug into this further and found info from
WonderlandChristmas.com. Amazingly, it is apparently more time consuming than technical! Sound can be heard from your car's FM radio like the real estate "Talking house" devices. The light engineering technicals can be found at
PlanetChristmas.com
This guy did not program that house but uses the same components for his house as that wild animated light show to the
Trans Siberian Orchestra's "Wizards of Winter". He has a better copy of that video (sound wise) but the video is still very poor. You can download and save the Wizards of Winter house video
here. Pretty simple devices and programming provided by a company called
Light O-Rama that sells everything you need.
Way too much fun! Now all you need is $2000 burning a hole in your pocket
The location of that "Wizard's" house is apparently anonymous but others like it exist across the country.
"Anonymous by request - Wizards of Winter - This person has about 16,000 lights, 88 LightORama channels. The Mega tree has 48,500, and the triangle in the middle is made up of 22 mini-trees, with 300 lights each, or 6300 total. (You may have seen this video floating around on the Internet in November 2005. I can assure you that it's real, and computer control was used to create all of the effects you see here. It is not a fake.)"
