Ok, gonna sound like a complete newb here, but back in May we put in a whole new Trane HVAC system. Replaced our 30 year old GE furnace to a Trane XV80. Now that its getting cooler, we need to test out the heat since this will be the first time its been used since it was installed.
Our old system had a pilot light and a switch, pretty simple stuff. This new system seems to not have any of that. We have a valve that comes down from the top which is our gas line that feeds into the furnace. Normally, when spring hits and we no longer need heat, I shut the pilot light off and close the gas valve.
This system apparently doesn't have a pilot light and it just ignites when the heat is turned on. I made sure the gas valve was loosened and opened and turned the heat on. I get an initial click and then I hear and see small flame on the right side of the furnace and I can hear it starting to warm up and then it goes off, never actually finish heating up the exchange and fan coming on to distribute heat to the house.
Any ideas?
Like I said, this whole system is 5 months old andheat has never been used, I know the installer checked to make sure it worked before he left and it did, but I remember him coming back and adjusting something with the furnace, but not sure what he did exactly.
