I have recently aquired this 81 cj7 This is my first real build so wish me luck. I have wheeled it a little bit and have decided it needs tons, it just so happens I have a pair to swap in. I'm 17 and open to any new knowledge yall have to offer me. Will be starting this as soon as it stops raining here in MO. Here's some pics of what I have.

Stretch the wheelbase by moving the rear axle back. Preferably with a four link. Cool looking old CJ.

4 1/2 inch cut off wheel makes short work of u bolts. Defiantly will need a rear stretch and a fuel cell in the tub.

I looked dad took them to work, Rear is getting stretched and already has fuel cell and full hydro-steer, the cucv axles are locked (gov-lock rear, OX front) getting racing seats and 4 points in the near future also

Anything I'm missing y'all can think of? I want to do this right I'm also planning a cam and ported heads over the fall/winter planning on doing it myself so tips and tricks appreciated thanks.

It should be a Detroit rear not a gov bomb. Looks like you have a good head start with the 60, since is already locked and has steering.

Leaf springs in the rear? If so, a traction bar would probably be a good idea.
