Ok so this is completely random but I was reading about the recent addition to the space station that they just added and thought since we can now go further than before, know more and have the technology then why doesnt NASA come up with trash pods to send into space? We are always worrying about littering and killing the environment and not enough room in landfills and whatnot, well why not just pack everything in a pod and send it to a black hole, or the sun for that matter? Heck, if we sent it to a black hole and it went back in time to 1894 it will serve as a time capsule as well.

...Or I guess we can fill up Hoboken NJ and then figure it out..

X2, on Hoboken N.J. But the whole state could hold much more, trash. They've been using it for this purpose, for quite some time. Oh to answer the 1st. question, it would take more fuel, to break the earth's gravity, than would be profitable.

It would be hard to send somethign into a black hole. And Im pretty sure any garbage we send into outer space is going to end up back on earth over time. Maybe.

Seriously? do you have any idea how much it costs to send anything into the air, let alone out of the atmosphere?

they talk about global warming messing up the ozone layer, but I always wondered how those spaceships don't add another hole when they cross. God know show much damaging toxins and such are getting close to the ozone layer

They launch trash out into the ocean, regularly.

When a Submarine needs to dump its trash, it compacts it into a small metal canister, and shoots it out of the boat. It then sinks to the ocean floor, to sit there, for god knows how long

No.. If i did i guess i wouldnt be asking this. I figured the cost of fuel might offset the cost of disease created by garbage, toxins emitted into the air, earth detroyed and land filleda and not to mention non-biodegradable items.

For instance all the computer monitors they are sending over to china and overseas countrys because they create a toxin through the chemicals in the screen. They dont biodegrade, so where do they go? Another country.. It cost to ship these items to another place to have them sit.. or we could use some extra money and just get rid of it completely..

As for the black hole theory. it would either be destroyed by flying debris or actually go in the whole.. Overall, whats it matter, its light years away at this point.

And it doesnt have to be rocket propelled while in space, it can have rutters and work on solar power from there. Hell instead of a garbage truck make a garbage ship.. Send it out, dump it on mars or somewhere, let extraterrestrials know we've :poop:on some planets and call it a day.. Now thats a garbage man I would sign up to be. I have thought about this for a while and think it can be done if people put a concentrated effort on it and actually came out with a cost effective plan. Then we wouldnt have to hear about all this global destruction crap!
