I got my wife a garmin had it a week and now when you plug it in it turns off any ideas on that may be wrong with it?

Press and hold the RESET button on the bottom of the nüvi for several seconds.

Clearing User Data CAUTION:
This deletes all user-entered information.

1. Hold your finger on the lower-right corner of the nüvi screen while turning on the nüvi.

2. Keep your finger pressed until the pop-up window appears.

3. Touch Yes to clear all user data.

All original settings are restored.

reset it but this is what is on the screen as soon as you plug it in unplug it and it works fine
