I have about 6 5 gallon containers I use for various things around here, and I'm tired of the stupid self venting nozzles that don't vent. I'm about to pull the trigger on a couple of these:
HI-FLO Replacement Gas Spout Kit

But was wondering if there is anything better/cheaper that the wisdom of NC4x4 might recommend. Go!

The ones I bought were branded "EZ Pour" and come from Amazon. They're about $10-12/ea:

Amazon.com: Replacement Spout - Water Jug Or Gas Can Spout - Update Your Old Can!: Industrial & Scientific

Replacement Spout - Water Jug or Gas Can Spout - Deluxe Hi-Flo System With 8" Extension - - Amazon.com

I have both, they both work well.

But I also have a couple of Eagle cans. They're better all-around than the plastic shit. One of them is an old one with an EZ-Pour spout on it, one of them is a new style with the separate funnel. I don't like having to keep up with the funnel.

I have a couple of those high flow POS's and just poked a vent hole in the back top of the tank and hand screwed a bolt into it. Unscrew the bolt and it flows like the old school jugs.

Agrisupply of garner sales the high flo replacement nozzles.

Tractor supply had them on sale for 9.99 a few weeks ago. I believe they were ez flow or ez pour brand.

....the title should be in the "things that suck ass" thread if it's not already :kaioken:

i have those a like them, but think $13 is a ripoff for a cheap plastic spout.

If you need to buy new cans, something like these or the VP racing cans are nice.

Have you used these with gas? Curious how they hold up. Wonder why it says race fuel only, not for street legal fuel unless its to get around the safety caps. The reviews are hit or miss, some say they are great, some say they leak from the cap.

I havent personally but know a number of folks that use them all the time with both race fuel and pump gas. No issues.

I presume its to get around safety crap.

Fuelworx gas cans

My VP jugs have worked fine for years with regular gas. The cheaper VP cans I got off Amazon tend to leak at the cap though since day 1.

where do you get the 'better" vp cans? I picked up a lc2 can similar to the vp2 but it leaked a little from the cap also.

I bought the good ones on eBay and summit. I have better luck with my round VP jugs than my square ones.

A little off topic, but on the EPA "safety" cans if you have the gas can out in the sun any it will really swell the tank up. Me thinks it's probably more dangerous than a regular ole gas can. Never had that happen with a normal gas can til they put the new-fangled filler necks on where it's mandatory to accidentally pour gas all over yourself trying to use the damn thing.

That's interesting. I have never had one of the new ones, but my old style swells up like a tick when it's hot. It will actually spew gas on you when it's near full if you open it.

One of mine burst at the seam.
