im wanting to dd a 4runner running a 22re with 37’s on h1’s with Dana 60’s front and rear geared at 5:13....
Any one venture a guess as to what gas mileage I might get?

I'd bet on low-mid teens. 22RE seem to give zero fucks how they are driven, mine got ~17-18 with 35's and 4.10 when I DD'ed it back in HS.

^^ that's your best bet. Of course, the cost of a complete set of highway-decent 35s on AL wheels is going to take a looooong time to recoup is saved gas mileage.
plus w/ the 5.15s you can't go too small or the RPMs are gonna be high and you'll be burning all the gas anyway.

I'm assuming this is a 5spd, not auto?

How much do you think I’d be looking at as is vs with aluminum wheels and 35’s

I'd guess 14-15. But if you have it - what mileage are you getting now? It's not hard to calculate.

It's actually quite difficult to properly guess how this change will affect your MPGs. On one hand, with a 37 vs a 35 you're going a farther distance per revolution, which means you get "free distance" per wheel turn, which is directly related to RPM. So overall RPMs should be lower on the 37, or if you keep the RPMs the sam,e you're going faster/farther per rev => better mileage
Buuuut - that 37+steel combo is heavy, and lugs that poor 22re more so it is not running as efficiently. So who the fawk knows.
Keep in mind the speedo and odo will also be different, and likely both wrong, compared to reality due to the tire/gear change. You can do the mat hto figure out how much error there is (compared to the stock 27.5" and 4.10s).... or just measure your speed via GPS and compare....

The point is, it's a guessing game. DDing a 4 cyl w/ those kind of tires is gonna suck no matter what you do. Unless it's putting 31s on it and let that sucker scream ;-)

I don’t own it...was planning on buying it. Thanks for the reply! I really appreciate it

Put a Cummings 24v in it. Damn thing will get 287 mpg while pulling Rosie O'Donnel up Old Fort Hill! At warp 6!
But the transmission will fail and the dash will crack.
But look at dem damn tow mirrors!

Oh shit, wrong thread...

Hahaha thanks man

Well fellas....I bought it anyway because I’m stupid....turns out I love this thing and it’s somehow getting 17mpg with the current h1’s on it :)...May eventually try 35’s on aluminum wheels but I can’t justify the cost while I’m getting 17mpg

Assuming your using a GPS for mileage tracking? Also regular steel wheels will still be lighter than the H1's. Hell anything is lighter than H1's.

Yeah gps...and I did it by route also...I also kept track of the odometer and compared it to the gps and it was within .3 of a mile...
It got 13 mpg at first then I ran one can of seafoam through it and now it’s getting 17mpg with mixed driving

Never used that stuff before but I’m impressed

Glad you got it, now finish that thing out right. @Hunter44 kept wanting a truck

If you’re worried about gas mileage, get a Prius. Otherwise run what ya got and enjoy the ride.

Is a 4runner heavier than a truck? I wonder if that made the difference
4runner is definitely heavier than a truck of the same vintage. More body, glass, extra interior stuff, etc.

Whether that small difference (few hundred pounds) really matters is debatable. Could have as much an effect from sone difference in timing, afm, etc....
