No first hand experience, but I’ve been watching TFL Truck on YouTube and they’ve done extensive real world testing. The empty mpg is impressive, close to 20mpg thanks to the 10 speed trans. The towing is excellent, and not that you’d need it but there’s now a super charger from ProCharger available for them and they add over 200HP and make it more powerful than the Powerstroke. And it all bolts on and looks factory.
They towed over Ike’s Gauntlet and many other places with it in stock form. If I were going to buy a brand new truck I doubt I’d even consider the Powerstroke myself and I’d go right to the new 7.3 without a doubt.
The fact that there’s already a supercharger and aftermarket headers available for that motor tells me than in the future there’s gonna be some killer Ford powered motor swap options in the next 10 years. Step aside LS fans (talking to myself)
