I have 2 2v v10's and have been happy with both of them.  One just rolled over 255k and one is pretty close to 250k.  My wife's excursion has had no engine problems, but needed a transmission rebuild around 180k.  Its mostly a family vehicle, but is does tow 8-10 times a year.

The other is in a f450. It pretty much stays hooked to the trailer all the time.  Rarely gets driven without towing.  It broke something in the bottom end around 200k.  This brings me to the best part of a 2v v10.  It received a 80k mile junkyard engine for $1000 bucks and a weekends worth of work.  You can pick up reman engines with a warranty for $3500.  Cheap and easy to maintain.

All that aside, if I were looking for something, I would look for a -05 up v10 with the 5r110 transmission.  I have not personally drove this combo, but I think this would be the ticket.  I'll probably replace the f450 with a -05 up v10 f450-f550 eventually (years down the road).
