Getting ready to gear up the Ranger. 88 HP Dana 60 going from 3.54s to 5.38s.

My options:

#1-Yukon thick cut gears and install kit , with no money left over for locker

#2-USA Standard thick cut gears and install kit, with some money left over to put toward lunchbox locker.

#3-Save your money fool and get a full carrier locker and regular cut gears.

Searching around it sounds like the USAs are pretty good and an extra $200 to put towards a spartan would be awesome.

Thanks.

Not sure how they compare buy I'm running g2 gears so far so good. I'm thinking they were 220ish for a chevy 60

I would probably install the thick cut USA Gear and use the money toward the locker. Just make sure it is setup and broken in correctly.

Like Tarheel said, USA Standard gears are just fine when (like most gears) installed and broken in correctly. As far as a lunchbox type locker for a Dana 60 goes, I ran a D60 Lockright in the front of my old race MJ with 39 Krawlers without any issue. Dana 60 carriers are strong, so those type lockers hold up pretty well in them.

I've installed quite a few sets of Yukon and prefer them. That being said I've used a few set of the USA Std gears with no issues. As other's have remarked the set up and break in is the key.
