gear pattern

this is my first try at setting up gears. have a look and let me know what ya'll think of the pattern, and if i should adjust on it more. It looks to me like it should sit in the valley more but i am not sure.

If the lash is right that's a good pattern

my younger brother helped me set it up as he has done a couple in the past.

here is the one i replaced.

it went out about halfway up mason jar, still got me back to camp without winching.
upgraded to a v6 third with a spool instead of the welded 4cyl third

pattern looks great maybe tighten down the backlash to .006 or a heavy .005 if its an offroad only rig.
i like less gear slap for offroad less chance of breaking teeth in my opinion.

If its within lash spec id run as is looks good to me

good pattern, get plenty of preload so it won't move around on you

i have done several regears myself and am well versed in setting up,i feel from the picture that the pinion depth is a little bit off center . it could be the angle of the picture or my perception ,but i would shim the pinion more to the gear and add a shim or two to readjust the lash,it will run with that pattern with probally little effect either way, it may cause a small axle roar driving down the road or maybe a small reend vibration purely my opinion however and congradulations you seem to have a firm grasp on what is supposed to happen in there, many people never figure it out
