Gears?

What's the tallest gear I can run in a 30/8.25 combo without changing the carrier? I've been told a few things from a few diff. people. Want to get the real awnser to make a solid decision

3.73 carrier break in the dana 30, and the 8.25 is gonna be easier because the carrier break is like 2.54 so it really doesn't apply.

It depends on what your current gearing is. The D30 front axle uses one carrier for 3.73, 4.11, 4.56 and 4.88 gear sets and a different carrier for 3.54 and 3.08 gear sets. As stated above, the carrier usually doesn't matter with the 8.25.
