General contractors recommendations

Looking for a residential general contractor who operates in Rocky Mount. This would be for repair/update to an existing residence. Any recommendations or warnings would be appreciated.

I don’t know that area, but I hope you have better luck and timing than I’ve had. I started trying to get estimates from GCs back in March for about a $40k deck replacement. Many wouldn’t return a call. 3 came out to look at it this summer, 2 actually gave an estimate. The GC we picked says he will begin demolition on Wednesday. Keeping fingers crossed.

Ditto on the good luck, I interviewed 40-ish contractors for a home renovation in Raleigh and got 2 quotes. One was $250-$350/sq ft.....the other was reasonable, but the contractor turned out to be a human dumpster fire.

I am sure good GC's are out there, but they must all be busy, because I couldn't find any.
