Ok I am considering getting some harnesses for the rear seat in my TJ, I have two sons and want them to be in harnesses, I still use the jeep on the road (very rare, but i do) so I will be keep the factory belts for that reason.

So my questions are,

  1. Are the OEM style buckles ok to use?
  2. Should I get a 4 point or 3 point and whats better or worst about the other?
  3. Can I mount the lower belts to the tub or should they be mounted to the frame? The Cage will be tied to the frame and there will be a belt bar behind the rear seat. At this point I am not running seat bars.

Here is a picture and link of what I am looking at getting

Thanks and any suggestions would be great. I search around and found a good bit of info on mounting and installing, But nothing on what to get.

This is for a family TJ Trail Rig, Thats doesn't see hardcore trails with the boys in it. I am just wanting something to hold them in place better than the factory belts, they slip and slide around the seat as is.

i don't see nay reason why those woulnd't be fine

FYI Corbeau has some neat ones that are specifically designed to be clipped in and out of place, so thay ou can easily remove them. e.g. switching between teh regular OE belts and them is cake. Instead of the bolt going through an eye, they use an eye-bolt, and a clip to connect through it.

Thanks, I shouldn't have a problem leaving them in the jeep, Seeing it doesn't see road time but once in a while, But I see how that could be useful.
