Generator assistance

I'm no electrical expert but how do you run 110 blanket off a 12V battery?
Well if you want to be energy inefficent, you use an inverter like you'd plug into a car, to go from 12v to 120.
Which is kinda crazy bc that blanket is actually a DC device, the cord has an AC-DC converter in it. You lose energy converting it twice for no reason.

Or - you spend $30 on a 12v blanket.

We have tailgated off a deep cycle battery and an inverter and ran a Tv crock pot and dish for 6+ hours with no need to recharge

Yeah but the cheapy in me can't allow myself to buy a blanket that may only be used a couple of times. If I buy the 110 one then my wife can use it at the house.
Fine then use an inverter and just deal with inefficiency, and then you also have the convenience of other small 110v stuff.

Or just buy a 12v one and then one of these
Amazon product ASIN B0191ADN58
which is a lot more practical.
But bonus of the inverter is that you can plug in other stuff too.

You got any of them LEDs to go with that?

I'm really leary of those. Had a friend die one time using a propane heater in a tent.
The Mr Heater Buddy series heaters have low oxygen monitoring built in, designed to eliminate CO buildup. I have a portable Buddy and used it in a tent many times. It's now used in my tent trailer (which granted has more air volume and ventilation).

PSA: Buy the filter for bulk propane use. You really do need it.

I've hammock camped at 15 degrees. I had an underquilt and a -15 bag. Warm and toasty all night. A good bag and a good closed cell foam pad will make a huge difference. I've been using Hyke and Byke gear for a few years now. So far so good with no issues.

Went and bought another foam pad today. My electric blanket came in so we'll see what happens. I'll use the tips you guys have said and I'll either freeze or I won't.

Copious amounts of alcohol don't hurt. It might not actually keep you warm but you eventually get to a point where you don't care.

I call it "Plan B"
