All right guys so my boss got this generator has been laying around for years and years and years pay 25 bucks for it is willing to sell it to me. I tied a rope around the pull crank and 4 gas straight into the cylinder and it fired right up of course the Rope got all tangled up around the crank. The entire pull cord mechanism is broke all to hell is there anything you guys can think of that I could quickly do to get the thing to be my backup generator before this storm hits. Looking for ideas thank you.
It's a 6250/5000 Watt unit

:flipoff2: the rope. just put an cordless impact driver on the crank bolt ( in conjunction with the correctly sized deep well socket of course) and pull trigger. once it starts pull the impact off. if you want to get fancy (or think safety) and run with the cover on cut a hole in the cover where the crank bolt is.

Will my air gun do the trick

And be careful with a rope on shit like that. My cousin pulled off two of his fingers with a rope that got caught up.
Yeah I used a wooden rod and it got tore up lol. Thanks

Pull start cover and shroud shouldn't be hard to find. Visit local small engine place, bet they've got ten out back. Plus the shroud provides cooling duct work for the cylinder, being air cooler and all.
