Well Tuesday I go and pick up my 92 Tracker.

I've been looking on pirate for awhile and found some coil info.

"QA1s, 14" all corners, 150 rear, and 175 front"

Now here's my question, Since I will be running a 4.3l in the tracker. how much should I up the front spring? I was thinking maybe 200?

What axles are you gonna be using?
Are you planning on mounting the springs under the frame or outside it?
Are you going for height to clear mud or low and stable for rocks?

If it were me I would mount a 3"or 4" TJ spring outside the frame. It will be nice and stable but flex pretty well.

Sounds to me that he is going coilovers not just coils since he mentioned QA1's...

With coil overs he would most likely have 2 springs per corner. Probably a 12" and a 14" I think he is planing on using just the coils like alot of people are doing now. But I may be wrong.

ya i am just going to use the coils. I am going to use the stock coil mounts since that is what a lot of ppl are doing. this rig will be a trail/mud rig and if i don't clear the 35's well then i will be cutting. (which i have already plan on doing) I will be running a yota 8.4" rear and prob a waggy 44 front since they are just about the same WMS.

I would go with a 200 that might be enough I'm not sure what a tracker weighs stock. I would definately run atleast a good front sway bar maybe even a rear. And most definately good shocks cause a waggy is pretty wide compared to the stock buckets on a tracker. That thing would be like riding on top of a slinky. Do a build thread I wanna see how it turns out. We need some new projects to follow plus there are tons of knowlegable people on here to help with it. Good luck!

i will keep yall up-to-date when i start. I was talking with a friend and he said to go with 250 since I will be running a winch also. but i was goin to try the 200 first and if it doesn't work out then go bigger.

There are tons of spring rate calculators on the net. Figure out what your sprung weight is and how much settle you want and they can tell you what you need to know. In your case it may not hurt to go a little stiff cause your not looking for tons of flex.
