Trying to branch out and hit different trails this year. Got a group of guys willing to hit new trails and they're looking to me to answer any and all questions.

Is it worth the trip to GER with a rear locker, limited slip front and 35's?

Most everyone else has 37's and front rear lockers.

The videos I've found are all of the harder trails and I know this crowd loves this park. Looks like they have big cabins and it looks like a great trip. Also considering kairos. If you've got somewhere you'd recommend let me know.

Just looking for any advice before making the trip.

Pictures just so you light actually stop and look.

Yes, it is.

Plenty of stuff at the Ranch you can do with that setup. Heck, Jim Smith does just about everything there with a TJ on 33's. Granted he has front and rear lockers but the LSD will do what he does.

Took a trip to the ranch with a similar crew a few years ago. Most of the crew couldn't make it around the park very well. Other than the main loop trail. It's a neat place, people are great, but if your crew is into trail riding with some obstacles I think Kairos would be a better park. GER has plenty of trails, they're shorter and more extreme. Kairos has lots of trails, all of which are doable with 35's. Nothing too extreme though other than the one white whale trail.

If your crowd has been dominating at URE and now looking for more technical stuff, I think Kairos is next best stop. Or hit both, they're pretty close to each other. You could do all the hard stuff at Kairos in a day, then head to the ranch the next day, then keep going to bear wallow, and ivy. Make your own ultimate adventure out of it.

35's rear locker and LSD up front will get around the park just fine. It might be a throttle fest if its wet but that's just part of it. Think of it as a giant playground. Just about every trail can be as hard as you want or as easy as you want and most have a parallel trail or bypass.

Awful meaning just don't drop into Cripple Creek at 3PM in the winter with 6" of snow and ice built up on most of the main obstacles in the trail.

Voice of experience talking there?

I did a good bit of it when my cherokee was on 34s. I think yall will enjoy it along with kairos.

Just ask for Bobby when you get there. Tell Matt that you want the Derek/Rod tour.

Once Bobby shows up, ask for the tour-of-jars....Take VERY large chugs of the 37 different jars of shine he puts in front of you (don't be a bitch). Then say YES to the tractor bar (again, don't be a bitch). Then, insist on a night ride with him as a guide.
All he requires is Bud light. He prefers it by the can. Buy 2 cases.
You'll be fine. He's GREAT at operating the excavator.

so there's never really anywhere you can get "stuck" because there's equipment

GER isn't about what you can "do"

It's about "holy shit, can you believe what we DID?!?!"

As you've seen above, every trail has a "hell naw dawg, I'll watch from above" bitch bypass for anyone with fears.
But if you're more than a URE jockey and actually know how to operate a winch, you will have the time of your life up there. I missed an epic trip 2 weeks ago so I'm jones'n to get back. I need to put the buggy back together this weekend but I should be ready to go in Feb. Put together something and I'll secure a cabin and be glad to show you around. I've needed an excuse to make @Ron my pillow pony in a private cabin 😘 so maybe we can get him up there for a trip

I have no idea what you’re talking about nor do I accept any responsibility for an excavator being in the woods that night.

I did, however, end up with Bobby’s straps in my rig on coincidentally that very evening & they rode home with me to NC. 🤦🏻‍♂️ So, if anybody is headed up & I’d be glad to meet you along your way up & let these things hitch a ride.

Also, the owners & staff are second to none, but don’t tear up their damn grass!

Yes, yes this is what I mean as well as when there is a tree blocking the access road so we all HAVE to drop in

But dang was it a lot of fun even with all the winching! :huggy:

You guys are all madmen! I won't even go to an NFS road when there is snow and ice on the ground, or drop into Cripple Creek at 3pm if it has only been raining!

I don't mind a bit of winching, but winching in the cold and miserable wet? No thanks!

Yeah, I'm old and cranky, But I do love a good, mostly dry run at GER.
