OK, I have a 86 CJ 7 with the dana 44 rear axle. It had the 4banger, t5, 300 dana. Here we go, I'm going with a 350 chevy, th350 auto and adapter for my dana 300. My ? is what bodie lift do you need to clear everything. I has a 3" bodie block lift and hate it and want to go to a one 1" poly block lift. Will this work. Thanks for any input

One inch should allow you to clear it all. I have seen them with no body lift at all, but a little makes it a little easier to get to bell housing bolts.

Thanks for the help, I lucked up last night and bought a 350 4 bolt main with zero miles on it for 800.00 . Would you run the factory oil pan or a 7 quart pain with high volume oil pump... Thanks steven

From personal experience in racing, I would not run a high volumn oil pump. At higher rpm's, it could starve the lower end of oil, resulting in bearing failure.

high pressure, not high volume...just my .02

When I worked at a engine machine shop I saw both. The problem with high pressure pumps is, well the high pressure. I have saw bearings with brown streaks embedded in the bearings. Erosion from contaminated oil at high pressure moving over the bearings, in a concentrated area. What I saw was an area not as lubricated as others. I never saw this on high volume pumps and the bearings in those engines.
How high of sustained RPM's are you planning on running?

I bought it from summit and I only wanted the extra oil. I don't run my motors over 3700 rpm max and mostly around 3000 rpm. Thanks
