Girls are into wheelin'

Chris got me into wheeling 17 years ago, when he took me to Uwharrie my senior year of high school. Our best vacation was in Moab 2004, but I have always been surprised that more wives/gf's don't want to go. Honestly, I'm not gung-ho have to go all the time, but I have a good time the 3-4 trips per year that we make. I prefer driving, but since its his DD I usually only get to drive for a little while each time we go out.

Anyway, its family time, outside, and away from a stressful job - thats the best part!

The funny part is Snice I got a boyfriend I should be wanting to fix my jeep (cheap labor.... love ya bear!) but.... when I double my wheeling trips (and money) because we both love to go... I had to take a break. this year we are going slack on wheeling, so next year we can play most of the year

The ex wifeis sporting a fairly mild ZJ on 35's now, and loves it, likes the mud, but is kinda scared of serious stuff.

The new g/f is accident prone in vehicles so she'll requre further training before getting the wheel of one of my rigs, but loves to go more than damn near anything. I think the Durango has been through more just because it was there and she wanted to than it has on a planned trip in a while. And may the good lord help the gasoline supply once the 460 is running in the F-150. Kinda doubt it will see much down time between trips to the river, the log roads, and the bog pit...

First date with Greg was to Uwharrie to test Border Patrol.

Eloped in Harlan after 2 hard days wheeling. We were late meeting the preacher and getting showered b/c Greg wanted "just one more trail." I love it. It's the scenery, the peace and quiet that I get in a lounge chair while the guys are fixing a broken rig (get a lot of books read that way). The adrenaline you get from conquering a nasty obstacle. I even get a little giggly when there is carnage to the rig. I know he can fix it. And he works hard, so he should play hard.

He's working on a junk yard cherokee so I can have a "family wagon" for me and Holley Bug (making sandwiches without a tailgate isn't a lot of fun) (oh and he wants me to damage my own rigs and not his).

But enough macho bs. He's teaching me how to wheel with every obstacle we take. Some of us (women) just like to learn new and interesting things....especially sports that are historically considered Macho. I love the praise and high I get when I get to the top of a trail. It's fun for us for most of the same reasons that it's fun for you.

And even though he won't go to see Jesus Christ Superstar with me, there are a LOT of activities he participates in only because I want to...I just happen to be lucky that I love to wheel almost as much as he does...the two way street that is marriage....
