im wantn to put a gm 1 wire alternator on my 81 toy. have no clue what i need or how to even begin so all input is greatly appreciated.

Trail gear has a bracket that is just bolt on. Other than that, I think you will have to cut the stationary mount some to fit in the existing place, but then it's just one wire directly to the battery. You can take out the ic regulator etc from the old one.

Bud sells a bracket for around $75 and bolts where the factory AC Compressor junk bolts. I have one sitting on the workbench getting ready to go on.

If you go to Napa, part# 134011sw or 2134011sw will work

If you go somewhere else, tell them its a Lester brand part #7127se and any parts store should be able to cross that over to whatever brand they sell

Or tell them its 77 Chevrolet c10 with a 350, that ought to work too. Any fullsize car or truck from about 72 or 73 up into the 80s should work....

If you got the bracket from bud, a napa # 25-7390 belt works, or anywhere else tell them xl 7390.

Thanks to Cumminsdzl for giving me that info a long time ago.
