Has anyone had the speedo on their GM truck puke out or other gauge? I've found a company that repairs them for a reasonable price or I can order the parts to fix them myself. The only issue I have is they only sell the motors in packs of 6 or more, and I only need 1. Let me know if you have this problem too and maybe we can work out a deal.

It's pretty common, if you are replacing one, might as well replace them all while you are in there, several tend to go out at once.

Maybe I got lucky or I have one of the "better" year models, but (knock on wood!) my 99 Silverado hasn't given me a bit of trouble. I've known of several newer trucks that have had the whole mess quit, but usually just the speedometer.

I agree though, if you do one, might as well do them all.

Someone pm'd me about this subject, but I'm unable to get back to my conversations...

99-02 were not nearly as common to fail, though it is possible (my wife's Infiniti had the same issue). 03-07 were the years with the common failures, with 03-05 being the worst I think, I believe around 06 they changed suppliers and the stepper motor became more reliable.
