DAMN GM AND DELPHI

Okay working on wife's 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix.

Passenger side window regulator went out.
I replaced this (fairly easy 6 bolts and 2 snap in wiring connectors.
Now the window works great, but...

The power locks are not acting right. Any door will unlock them all. No door will lock them. The key remote is the same.
However, the safety feature that locks all the doors when it is put in drive will still lock all the doors,

AND

The rear passenger power window will now not work from either that door nor the drivers door control.

WTF? how are these two related.

Got too dark to trace too much tonight, will start back tomorrow evening, but any experience or common trouble spots would be greatly appreciated.

Both systems may be bus systems. Check to see if you didn't push one of the wires out of the connectors or maybe pulled a wire off the connector at the lock actuator. Just a thought.

You might also have to initialize the systems after disconnecting them. Try holding the lock button down for 5 sec or so. Same thing with the windows. Don't know squat about GM (for good reason) but BMW has done similer things in the past.

Did you unhook the battery before you started? This car has the body computer to control all those functions, and they are very sensitive(note expensive), even unplugging them while still having power isn't good

I went to a class for 3 days last year on just body computer stuff

Try to get a hold of scanner and you can check all functions and whats going, I'm not much help without more info

What he said.

MAYBE you'll get lucky and just disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and reconnecting ( Negetive cable!!) could bring things back inline.

is this a salvage yard part or NEW aftermarket?
