When you guys say you want to tune you should be more specific about what exactly you want to accomplish. If you just want to dial it in better after installing a new exhaust or upping fuel pressure that stuff is relatively easy... Any vehicle can see some improvements by simply dialing in the stock tune to the specifics of the engine.
7747 is relatively easy to tune using the winaldl logs. And its easy to do some quick bin hacks. I use a Moates Autoprom and its much easier as you make the changes and its updated real time, when you get something you like burn a chip. (also using EEproms).
Some other good basic stuff to do:
Set base timing 4deg and set on chip
Check and set fuel pressure or up a little ~12 or simply tell the chip exactly where its at on your rig.
Turn off/dissable specific codes. (EGR)
Set idle (i had my small block at 550rpm)
Personally I like to leave the knock sensor working and turn with it. But 4x4s are inherently clunky and noisy and can make it harder to do.
All this said. Spend $ and start off your tuning efforts with NEW sensors and new plugs/wires/cap rotor etc... Temp sensor, EGR if you keep it, TPS, keep your other ones as spares. This will let you tune to good sensors vs your tune correcting against slightly off sensors.
You can rough in most stock ish tunes to 80-90% in a few hours, the rest can take forever.
